Welcome to, the new website for The Hockey Museum.

Our first website was launched in 2012 and we have progressed a long way since then. The old website was well received and used in the early years but as The Hockey Museum (THM) has developed and has more and more information and stories to share, we recognised that we needed a more flexible and robust platform. As more and more of our followers are using mobile devises and social media to find out about us we also need to make the website more accessible to all the different technologies and include easier links to Facebook and Twitter.

We have redesigned the home page to ensure that the things people most want to find out about are more obvious: how to make an enquiry; how to donate artefacts and archive material; and how to find out about our the latest news. There are now specific buttons that take you directly to the pages with the information you need.

The three main boxes on the home page will give you access to the latest Museum news, the return of our popular Hockive Facts section (snippets of interesting stories from across hockey’s history) and a new regular bi-weekly feature "Hockey In 50 Objects". This will look to showcase key objects that tell the story of our fantastic game; the first of these is the 'hedgerow stick'. We will also be running a series entitled "Hockey 50 Years Ago" which will look at interesting stories from magazines published half a century ago.

We also hope that the menu bar is now easier to navigate and will let you find what you are looking for. There are the usual "News", "About Us" and "Library" tabs but we now have an exciting new section called "Timeline" that enables you to browse through images of scenes and objects that tell the story of hockey from ancient times through to the modern day. We also have a gallery section to give more images about specific aspects of our game. This will grow with time.

We will continue to improve the site in the coming months so if you have any problems navigating the website or have suggestions for improving it, please contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., THM's Digital Content Editor.
